In a world where we are constantly making plans for tomorrow or worrying about what we did or said yesterday – where do we find the time and space to actually just live in the present? The feeling of just ‘being’ so that the only thing that consumes the mind is the here and now. Take a moment……when was the last time you felt you were entirely in the present and how did it feel?
Many people I speak to say how rare it is to be focused completely on the present. We are so busy being pulled in different directions that concentrating on the present is something we simply just forget to do. Like many other people I have struggled with time management and keeping up with the demands of everyday life. In the quest to find a little more peace within a busy day I have explored and am still exploring mindfulness. Mindfulness practice is ideal for cultivating greater awareness of the unity of mind and body, as well as of the ways the unconscious thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that can undermine emotional, physical, and spiritual health. For those who feel they are never fully in the present check out the video below – maybe mindfulness meditation is for you! I will be blogging more about my mindfulness journey in the coming months……..
